Eastern Alpine Ski Championships

Congratulations to the fine athletes whose performances at the Wisconsin State Alpine Ski Championships won them an invitation to the Eastern Championship event in New Hampshire. Twelve ski racers from Wisconsin will represent our state on March 13th and 14th on Attitash Mountain. We had the privilege of photographing their runs at the state meet.

For the second year in a row we have been invited as the official photographers for the Eastern Championship event, and so will have the privilege of seeing them perform again. Needless to say, we're excited! We don't know all of the racers on the Wisconsin roster, but these 4 we know for sure!

Les Miserables by Muskego High School

Bravo to the Muskego High School Music Department - Cast, Pit and Crew, and to all their parents and supporters. The performances of Les Miserables were fantastic. I'm still hearing the music in my head and wondering at the talent and performances!

Here's a photo video set to LEs Miserables music (sorry not the high school's rendition as I don't have access to that). Having no skills or knowledge of music mixing, the transitions are nothing short of jolting. But, the imagery and music do combine to recreate the memorable experience.  Enjoy!

WJR Snow Ski Season

Saturday was race 5 of the season already. It's been fun to photograph the competitions from the tiniest J6 girl

to the strong and fast J1 boys.

And since the last race is a night race, last Saturday at Devil's Head was our last WJR race this year. In honor of the great season we are offering a one week only digital special. The details were sent to all race families in an email so I won't repeat them here. If you have questions about our special, please email me or call 262.679.7900.

Congratulations to all competitors on a very successful and entertaining season!

Water Ski Memories and the New Digital Mat

A dear friend and frequent client asked for a collage of 3 jump pictures of her husband from last year's Show Ski season. Creating it sure brought the summer of 2009 back to me. It was nice to re-live warm memories on a day when the temperature didn't get above 20! And it was creatively fun to exercise my digital mat system. So here's another sample of great photos digitally matted.

Another friend and client received a large digitally matted family portrait from her husband as a surprise Christmas gift. At a party I asked her how she liked it and she said it was great. Last week she told me that she does think it was great - but she was embarrassed to admit that she thought that the mat was real - physical. She didn't know until after the party when she looked (and touched) the piece that the mat was part of the print. And she loves it even more now! This is one product that needs to be seen to fully appreciate it.

Soon it will be available to you on your orders too!

Family Christmas 2009

Roger and I were blessed with the gift of a trip to Sarasota, FL to spend the Christmas week with my parents and my sister, Barbie. For the past 5 years or so mom and dad have left shortly after Thanksgiving for their 4-month respite from the worst of Wisconsin winter. Having just celebrated Thanksgiving with them I didn't think that I minded "missing" them at Christmas. Then there's Barbie! She packed up for Oregon about 18 years ago, has only returned once and we've been to her new hometown only once in all that time. So Christmas has been many years without her. Didn't know I missed celebrating with her so much either - until this year....

Our week together in my parents 2 bedroom condo (Roger, me, Barbie and my mom and dad) was far more fun and happy than I could ever have imagined until we were all there this year. We picked up Barbie at the Tampa airport on the 22nd at just before midnight and drove to my parents' Sarasota home. Much shopping happened on the 23rd and 24th. Then, with our family's traditions as a guide we shared Christmas Eve dinner followed by gift exchange. This is when I received the best gift ever. My mom and dad kept saying that this was the best Christmas they have had in many years. They were positively beaming. It wasn't the gifts - it was being together to share the evening together. I still get a bit teary remembering the evening.

More about the trip and some photos later. For now, I created this video of our Christmas Eve to share with you. Enjoy!

2010 Grad Nikki!

Nikki's session was in August. In the craziness of that time frame, her video didn't get made. I feel really good about having done so now! And here it is...

What Makes a Smile Special?

Is it the adoring parents? The braces? The missing tooth? Or is it the magic of loving each other and donating those loving smiles to help others? I think it's all of that!

Thanks to all the participants (so far - one day to go) and to our sponsors and volunteers (Kylie, Tammy and Roger). There are a few sessions left today - come on in and share your smiles! 262.679.7900

Generosity the Rule - Giving Smiles Off to an Exceptional Start

I can't believe my eyes! After day one we have bags and bags and bags of groceries for the food pantry. We also have toothbrushes and desserts - one hundred of each!

As the smiles were donated so were the groceries and there was a lot of love in the studio yesterday! Here's a photo of "Tastefully Simple Terri" hamming it up with her donation between sessions...

And this little angel flew in and landed on a chair....

Wondering (with awe and anticipation) what the next 3 days of the event will bring. For sure lots of food to stock the shelves of the Muskego Food Pantry, and lots of  smiles.

We do still have openings, so call the studio (262.679.7900) today and become part of the fun, the giving and the joy!

Time Flies

About this time last year my friend was very pregnant, and still running her web development company. Now, she's still running her successful company and raising her [nearly] 7 year old son and her new son who is so grown up! She and her husband have wonderful humor and take such joy in their boys. It is truly my privilege and pleasure to have photographed them for the entire first year with Wesley. I doubt that this is our last session, yet as Wes continues to grow we'll see him less frequently in the studio. Enjoy this peek into our most recent session....
